The Yavapai

Even though it is located on the first floor off the living room, the Yavapai has commanding red rock views because of our high elevation.  Sit on your own porch and see Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte lit up by the setting sun or lie in your queen bed, snuggled in luxe linens and see the sunlight play over Red Butte at daybreak, with your privacy protected by honeycomb shades that go from the bottom up.  Or relax in the double Jacuzzi, with the window above it.  The leather bed and chair and cattle horns provide an ideal setting for enjoying some old cowboy flicks filmed in Sedona.   Click here.

The Yavapai: $225 per night

The Coconino

The Coconino is on the end of the B&B closest to the red rocks so that it not only has the banner view across the top of our website but also a close-up view of Red Butte and Castle Rock. Enjoy these colorful rocks from your own balcony or from the large windows in your light, airy room. The bottom-up honeycomb shades make it possible to enjoy this awesome scenery in the complete privacy of your queen bed. You can also see Red Butte from the windows over the large two-person shower with its state-of-the-art showerheads. Another bathroom window looks up at Castle Rock. Two pedestal sinks make rubbing elbows delightfully difficult.   Click here.

The Coconino: $225 per night

The Mariposa

An entire side of the sunny Mariposa Room has windows looking out on a panorama of famous red rocks.  Swing open the French doors to your own balcony--the small, intimate balcony is just large enough for two chairs with a little table for your wine and cheese--or enjoy these views from the softness of your sofa.  The decor highlights the geckos of the southwest in the cutouts of its mission-style queen bed, while Mexican tin mirrors shimmer in the light.  Chase away those tired muscles in the double shower and wrap yourselves in our terry robes to watch a DVD movie on our 32" flat panel TV.  Click here.

The Mariposa: $225 per night ($250 for three people)

The Javelina

The Javelina Room is named for those wild, pig-like creatures who roam the area at night in herds, eating our pansies and even our prickly pear cacti.  French doors along a wall of windows opens onto a balcony the length of the room, whose chaise beckons you to kick back and enjoy the red rock panorama.  In a more intellectual frame of mind?  Check out the old leather bound volumes of Shakespeare's plays stored in the antique secretary.  At bedtime relax in the double shower and then crawl into the platform queen bed, with its soft pillow topper and luxe linens to enjoy a DVD.  Click here.

The Javelina: $225 per night (Javelina and Kokopelli: $400 per night)

The Kokopelli

The Kokopelli has a small sitting room in addition to the bedroom plus a 32" flat panel TV, a two-person Jacuzzi with separate shower, a European style clothes rack instead of a closet, and a balcony the length of the entire room.  The Mexican furniture, tin mirrors, and pottery are accented by Kokopellis.  Kokopelli is the name given to a commonly found figure of a man playing a wind instrument that is often seen carved into the walls of ancient Indian dwellings.  Whatever it may have meant to them, it is generally thought to signify a happy time--one that The Penrose hopes will carry over to your stay here.   Click here.

The Kokopelli: $250 per night ($275 for three people)
(Kokopelli and Javelina: $400 per night)

The Suite

The suite consists of the Kokopelli and Javelina rooms.  The suite offers breathtaking views, as well as your own secluded part of the B&B.

The Suite: $400 per night (No deduction for singles.  Extra person in the Kokopelli Room $25.)

The result is a crisp, clean look warmed by the sautillo tile and cherry floors reflecting the reddish palette of the red rocks themselves. Accessories present an interesting mix of Mexican and Native American crafts and images.

Each guest room has a 25, 27, or 32-inch stereo TV, DVD player, and CD clock radio. Upon returning from an active day and a pleasant dinner enjoy drinks from the fridge and bedtime treats before relaxing in your room. Then, after a soothing shower or Jacuzzi, slip into one of our plush robes, kick back, and enjoy the moment. You may want to view the stars above and the twinkling lights in the valley below from the many large windows of your room before lowering the room-darkening honeycomb shades in order not to be awakened by the morning sun. Or, leave the shades open to enjoy the often colorful sunrise.
