Christie, currently a professor of history at Iowa State University and past president of the ISU faculty senate, has also served on the faculties of the universities of Indiana, Oregon, and Kentucky. Her husband, Whitney, a retired Indiana University professor of sociology, was raised in Winnetka, Illinois, but fell in love with the west as a result of many western trips and 6 years at the University of California, Berkeley.
